b+m robot technology – generation X6

The T1 X6 and T2 X6 series painting robots are state-of-the-art 6-axis articulated robots with hollow-wrist design, specifically developed and optimized for paint application. Both robot series feature the latest generation machine control systems. Combined with advanced drive and control technology, this results in high acceleration and speed along the path, as well as maximum painting accuracy.

All mechanical robot components are designed, manufactured, and assembled by us. Since these painting robots are not mass-produced, customized modifications to meet individual customer requirements are always possible.

The T1 series robots are robust yet highly dynamic painting robots with extended reach, making them especially suitable for plastic paint lines in the automotive industry.

Thanks to their compact design and kinematics, the T2 series robots are ideal for confined painting areas or process-driven mounting positions, which are common in bodyshop applications.

Key features

  • Precise control of surface quality and coating thickness through exact coordination of material output and TCP speed
  • Suitable for use in explosion-proof zones and with electrostatic (ESTA) application equipment
  • Protected integration of dosing and application technology within the robot body
  • Efficient material usage thanks to the placement of application technology close to the atomizer, resulting in short supply lines and minimal losses during color changes
  • Smooth, easy-to-clean external surfaces

Arm design/process arm

The robot arms are available in various lengths and configurations. Depending on the painting task, multiple arm lengths for axes 2 and 3 can be selected.

For the T1 X6, the standard, so-called slimline arm can be upgraded to a process arm. The process arm consists of an aluminum structural extension with a plastic cover and provides space to accommodate application technology close to the atomizer. This results in shorter supply lines for paint and flushing media to the applicator, which in turn results in material savings and faster color change times. Upgrading the slimline arm to a process arm or vice versa can also be carried out subsequently if required, as it is a modular retrofit kit.

Moving axes

The working range of the T1 X6 and T2 X6 series painting robots can be significantly extended with moving axes, including horizontal and vertical axes. To minimize paint loss, the paint supply can be mounted onto the robot axis.

  • Weight-optimized design with high rigidity
  • Robust roller guides in enclosed design to prevent dirt and dust ingress
  • Multiple robots can be used on one axis
